Today’s sensitive electrical and electronic equipment requires clean power and protection against power surges generated both internally from switching equipment and externally including lightning and occasionally utility switching.

Computers, laser printers, copiers, electronic power supplies, variable speed drives, Invertors, and sensitive microprocessors are sharing a common electrical system with traditional equipment, creating incompatibility.  Modern equipment is now running at high speed and low voltage making them susceptible to any fluctuation within the electrical system. This requires the electrical system to be free of transients and surges. Simply put, sensitive modern electronics and processors cannot tolerate the high frequency transients, surges, and noise present in every electrical system.

ACTIVE HARMONIC FILTERS

Active harmonic filters are designed to provide a high level of performance for the cancellation of problematic harmonics. Based upon power electronic technology, the TracKer active filter dynamically corrects a wide spectrum of harmonic orders – from the 3rd to the 51st. By using an all digital platform that continuously adapts to rapid load fluctuations the electrical power network functions more efficiently. The active filter measures the harmonics generated from a nonlinear load and cancels the harmonics with a newly generated, opposite phase shifted harmonic current of the same amplitude (AC/DC/AC). This allows the filter to:

  • Eliminate all harmonic currents from nonlinear loads
  • Compensate reactive power factor of lagging loads
  • Act as a damping resistor to prevent harmonic resonance
  • Not create a resonance condition

Cost Savings

 The rating (ampere size) of the TracKer is based on nonlinear load requirements       (corrective current), not both linear and nonlinear, like traditional filter equipment. 

That means that you can install a TracKer AHF system at a reduced rating, which will lower initial equipment costs.   

The TracKer AHF can be easily and conveniently added in parallel with other active filters, to accommodate Future equipment additions. Virtually no time is lost for       installation, supporting the important uptime operation of a facility. TracKer meets or exceeds Total Demand Distortion (TDD) limits specified in table 10.3 of the IEEE 519 Standards.

Sag Fighter™

The Sag Fighter™ provides solid, affordable protection for sensitive equipment from deep voltage sags (dips) without batteries or energy storage. Available in sizes from small three phase applications up to complete facility protection, the Sag Fighter™ is compatible with all load types and power factors.

Ideal for those applications where UPS and energy storage devices are impractical or too costly, the Sag Fighter™ has no batteries or other parts to replace and requires no regularly scheduled maintenance or monitoring. The 99% electrical efficiency offers huge energy savings when compared to other sag correction products – especially for large-scale applications. 

Since the Sag Fighter™ does not depend on stored energy; it provides sag protection for as long as the sag condition exists. Also, protection from consecutive deep voltage sag events is always available since the Sag Fighter™ is never offline to recharge or reset.

The Sag Fighter™ works simply by using additional current to create a properly shaped injection voltage to replace those portions of the voltage waveform that is missing during a sag event. The unit monitors the incoming voltage waveform for any deviation from normal and reacts to correct a sag when the voltage starts falling below 90% of nominal voltage.

POWER CONDITIONER-ELECTRONIC VOLTAGE REGULATOR

The Sure-Volt™ is a heavy duty power conditioner designed to provide effective and reliable operation, even under the most severe conditions. The industry-leading overload capacity of the Sure-Volt™ makes it ideal for those applications with large motor, transformer or magnetic loads with high inrush current or poor power factor.

The Sure-Volt™ utilizes microprocessor-based controls that electronically switch taps on a shielded, isolation transformer to provide a tightly regulated output voltage.  When the incoming voltage varies between +10% and –25% of the nominal input voltage, the Sure-Volt™ responds within 1 cycle to provide an output within +/-3% of the nominal output voltage.
